Gintzler International Helps Kickoff Re-tree Planting at Central Terminal

On Friday, November 4th, Gintzler International, a provider of custom label and product identification packaging solutions, helped kick-start a full weekend of plantings by Re-Tree WNY.   The special planting of 25 Morton Maple trees by Gintzler employees and Re-Tree representatives took place in the heart of the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood at the Buffalo Central Terminal, in collaboration with the Curtiss Urban Farm Foundation and a local Boys Scouts Troop.

Gintzler is commemorating over 100 years of packaging excellence this year and is participating in a series of community service events across their two locations in Buffalo, NY and Liberty Hill, TX to celebrate.  As part of their centennial celebration, Gintzler presented Paul Maurer, Chairman of Re-Tree WNY, with a check for $1,000 in April to cover the cost of ten trees.  Each of the ten trees represents one decade Gintzler has been in business.

“We realize we have successfully grown as a company for over a century due to the ongoing support we have received from our incredible staff, customers, vendors, and communities we serve,” says Mary Scheible, CAO of Gintzler International.   “It is an honor to help reforest the neighborhood surrounding this beautiful community landmark.”

The Buffalo Central Terminal is an iconic railroad station in downtown Buffalo.  After years of abandonment, it is now owned by the nonprofit preservation group Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, which is currently working to restore and repurpose the once thriving complex.

Special recognition is also given to Pete Baschmann of Baschmann Services Inc., who donated his time and equipment to prepare the holes in the ground for the tree plantings.
