4 Fundamental Questions to Ask Your Pharmaceutical Label Supplier

If you’re a pharmaceutical manufacturer looking to partner with a label printer, knowing the right questions to ask is critical to ensure high product quality, regulatory compliance and market competitiveness.

Here’s four fundamental questions you should ask before committing:

1.  What certifications does the facility hold?

In the pharmaceutical industry, it is important to minimize the level of risk during every phase of the manufacturing and packaging process.  A company willing to invest time, resources and effort into maintaining certification to an international standard is demonstrating its commitment to a quality management system.   Partnering with an ISO-registered label manufacturer is a quick way to affirm their commitment to quality, their ability to meet customer expectations, and their familiarity with your industry and regulations.

Gintzler International is certified to ISO 13485:2016, an honorable distinction that very few packaging printers can claim.  This merit demonstrates our commitment to quality and customers, as well as our willingness to work towards improving efficiencies.

2.  What printing and finishing equipment do they have?

It’s crucial to find a label supplier who is capable of handling your packaging requirements – from label designs to quantities, ordering patterns to lead times.

Gintzler International maintains more than 20 production lines with digital and flexographic capabilities, in addition to an extensive fleet of finishing equipment to serve the needs of our customers.   We continuously invest in our expert staff, evolving processes and state-of-the-art equipment to bring new techniques to market.

3.  What capabilities do they offer?

Every labeling application is unique.  From prime labels to shrink sleeves, spot piggybacks to hinge labels.  Be sure to align yourself with a printer who has the capability to deliver the customized solutions your industry demands.

Did you know Gintzler has an in-house, cross-functional innovation team who collaborates for new product and process development, problem solving and sample testing?  We specialize in providing innovative label solutions for syringes, vials, ampoules, pens, auto injectors and medical containers.  Capabilities include, but are not limited to, detachable security features, indicator inks, holograms, taggants, tactile elements, and NFC/RFID.

4.  Does the facility have a trackable system?

Recording and tracking inventory and components is critical in the pharmaceutical and medical industry.  Having the resources and software to support full product traceability is an essential regulatory requirement.  A facility must have a capable system to ensure that every aspect of the product is trackable to the source.

At Gintzler, we provide full print management services.  Our comprehensive enterprise resource planning and job management system offers scheduling flexibility and supports full chain-of-custody initiatives.  In addition, our vendor managed inventory system improves customers’ order accuracy, reduces waste, minimizes obsolescence and increases warehouse efficiency.
