Print Shop Tools

Modern testing and verification equipment is often used throughout the production process to ensure critical specifications of a printed piece are controlled and achieved on a consistent basis, as well as to confirm raw materials and finished products exhibit the highest quality.

Substrate properties, print quality, durability, and environmental conditions are among the characteristics that may be monitored and tested.  Gintzler International maintains a quality lab and test center for product analysis.  Following are some of the resources available for reference within the facility:

  • Code Verification Scanner – Reads, verifies and grades printed bar and QR codes.
  • Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester – Identifies COF of coatings and materials.
  • Elevated Temperature Conditioning Chamber – Evaluates the stability of packaging in warm temperatures.
  • Ink Mixing System – Mixes and modifies ink formulations.
  • Lightbox – Utilized for visual color evaluation.
  • Offline Digital Proofing – Verifies the first piece off press for approval.
  • Spectrophotometer – Measures color for press run verification and color formulation.
  • Sutherland Rub Tester – Tests ink durability.
  • Tensile/Force Tester – Tests tensile characteristics of packaging and materials.
  • Video Inspection Machines – Enables 100% inspection of printed media after printing.
  • Web Inspection System – Provides 100% inspection, registration and web control capabilities while printing.
