Printing to Manage the Product Life-Cycle

The life story of most successful products is a history of their passing through certain recognizable stages.  This product life cycle is an important concept in marketing and refers to the different phases a product goes through – from introduction to withdrawal from the market.  The four main stages of the product life cycle are:  introduction, growth, maturity and decline.

Obviously, packaging lifecycle management is an intrinsic part of product life cycle management.  Gintzler understands the customer product life cycle and applies the proper printing technol­ogy to maximize efficiency and reduce obsolescence throughout the product’s lifespan.

Introduction Stage

This stage occurs when a new product is first brought to market, before there is a proven demand for it.  Test markets and new product launches are often involved.  This stage fits with Gintzler International’s digital capabil­ities for quick turnaround and short runs.

Growth Stage

During the growth stage, demand for the product begins to accelerate; and the size of the total market expands rapidly.  Gintzler’s flexographic platform allows ramp-up for longer runs and the ability to meet de­mand as the pipeline increases.

Maturity Stage

Demand for the product levels off during the maturity stage.  With the product established using flexogrpahic process, stock levels are managed.  Gintzler International can adapt to packaging changes or modifications.

Decline Stage

During the decline stage, the product begins to lose consumer appeal; and market demand softens.  Products are re-branded, improved or phased out.  Obso­lescence is non-existent as Gintzler’s digital platform manag­es the shorter runs.
